Please email your resume and tickets to: assistantba2300@cmaw.ca Journeyperson C arpenter – Description C arpenters construct, erect, install, maintain, and repair structures and components of structures made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. They are employed by construction companies, carpentry contractors, and maintenance departments of factories, plants, and other establishments, or they may be self-employed. Pay $36.66 - $47.04 Schedule 8-hour shifts 10-hour shifts Benefits * Extended health care * Dental care * Vision care * Life insurance * Disability insurance * C ompany pension Eligibility Requirements * Physically fit * W illing to work in a team * C ompletion of a four-year carpentry apprenticeship program, Red Seal C ertification, or a combination of over 9,540 hours of work experience in the trade and some high school, college, or industry courses in carpentry C arpenters perform some or all of the following duties: * Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements * Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools * M easure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials * Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems * Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware * M aintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments * Supervise apprentices and other construction workers C M A W Local 2300 – W ho we are C M A W Local 2300 is a local of the C onstruction M aintenance and A llied W orkers Union, B.
